WEEK 4: JOKERS ANYTHING BUT IN UPSET WIN OVER UNTOUCHABLES

It's been a long season so far for the Jokers.

But on the Sunday before the Thanksgiving break, the Untouchables found out that the joke was on them.

The Untouchables entered the game at 3-0, looking to  keep pace with the Big Dogs and Agents at the top of the standings.   The Jokers have struggled to get players out all year, and when the squad showed up with only 7 players, the odds looked stacked against them once again.    But a couple of wily veterans on the Jokers had something else in mind.

Jason Verstratten, thrust into the full time QB role, found his stride as he shredded the Untouchables defence, hitting his brother Jeff Verstratten a couple of times each series for big gains.   And Jeff's kicking was fantastic as he hit a couple of long field goals to ensure the Jokers kept pace with the Untouchables dynamic offence.

Indeed,  the Trevor Woods led offence had it's way with the Jokers defence as well, putting up 39 points, which in most games gets you the victory.    However,  the Jokers did one better for a 45-39 win - their first of the season - and the Untouchables first loss.

A tired Jokers squad fought valiantly in game two of a doubleheader but lost a close 25-16 decision to the undefeated Big Dogs.   Still, if these lastest two games are any indication, the Jokers may be rebounding and could be a darkhorse in the second half of the season that just may upset some team's championship aspirations.
