WEEK 5: BANDITS SLIP PAST AGENTS; BIG DOGS STAY ON TOP

And then there was one.

After  Week 5 in the AFFL, only the defending champion Big Dogs remain undefeated.   Thanks to the surprising Bandits, the Agents no longer remain that way.

The big game of the week featured the 6-0 Big Dogs against the 3-1 Untouchables - and the game did not disappoint.   The teams traded scores and played well defensively, with the score knotted at 15 apiece with 6 plays left and the Big Dogs with the ball.   A huge run gave the Big Dogs possession at the Untouchables one yard line and they scored a couple of plays later,  then held the fort for the last two plays of the game to emerge with a 22-15 win.   It was far from a lost weekend for the Untouchables, however, as they won the second game of their doubleheader 30-19 over the Warriors.

The Agents moved to 5-0 with a big 52-18 win over the Bruzers and then looked to stay perfect against the Bandits.   The Bandits had other ideas, however.  Both team's offences lit up the scoreboard, but in the end it was the Bandits taking advantage of the Agents playing their second game of the day to come away with a 38-28 win  -  their first over one of the league's top teams.

The Bandits, however, could not duplicate the magic in their second game of the day as they fell to the Beavers 35-8.  It was the Beavers second win on the day as they defeated the Jokers 30-7 in the previous game, giving them a three wins in a row and moving them to 5-2 on the year.

In the lone other game, Team Green found themselves in another close game searching for their first win of the season.  But, they fell just short again, losing 20-18 to the Redskins.

Week 6 action features some huge games as the Agents face both the Beavers and the Big Dogs; the Bandits look to knock off another top tier team when they play the Untouchables; and the Bruzers and Team Green look to win their first of the season in their showdown against each other.
