The Shock have claimed their 4th consecutive AFFL regular season title with a 44-4 win over the Jager Bombers to finish the regular season at 9-0 and as the odds-on favourite to win their 5th consecutive AFFL title. Looking to stop that streak are the Agents, who demolished the Big Dogs 60-23 to finish alone in second at 8-1.
With the win, the Agents ended up scoring 373 points in 9 games for a 41.44 pts/game average to set a new AFFL 9 game single season scoring mark, eclipsing the record of 347 points set by the Shock in 2009. The Agents will need that scoring if they are to claim their first AFFL title and unseed the Shock.
In other action, the Beavers overcame a slow start and a small 6-0 halftime lead to defeat the Warriors 30-8 and claim 3rd spot; the Jokers rebounded from two losses last week to defeat the Bruzers 37-14 and claim 4th spot; while the Eagles defeated the Bandits 38-20 for their second consecutive win.
Playoffs are set for Sunday November 13th with wild card and quarter-final action, followed by Consolation and Championship finals on Sunday November 20th. Flag Bowl 2011 will be Saturday November 26th featuring the Consolation, B and A Championships.
