Week 6 Round Up: BEAVERS HAVE LAST LAUGH ON JOKERS

Last week saw a battle for first place as the undefeated Beavers and Jokers met in what could be an AFFL final preview.   In the end, defence ruled the day and there is only one team left with a perfect record.

Beavers 7  Jokers 5

The AFFL's top two teams showed that defence wins championships, with the Beavers emerging with a tough 7-5 win.  Neither team surrendered a touchdown, with Jason Graham's two field goals and a rouge providing enough points for the Beavers win.  Ricardo Hoyos missed a 30 yard FG attempt on the last play of the game that would have given the Jokers an 8-7 win.   


Jokers 22 Bandits 8

The Jokers bounced back from a tough loss against the Beavers to end the weekend on a winning note with a win over the Bandits to stay near the top of the AFFL standings. 

Redskins 17  Bruzers 14

Neil Perry tossed a late TD to give the expansion Redskins an upset win over the Bruzers. Mike Edwards tallied a rouge and field goal for the Redskins as well.Brian Cook tossed two TD passes in reply for the Bruzers.  

Warriors 15 Redskins 13

The Warriors defence stopped a Redskins drive on the 5 yard line as time expired to preserve a tough two point win.  Marty Patience found Darryl Campbell for two TDs, with Campbell also chipping in a rouge. 

Agents 41 Eagles 32

The Agents kept pace with the league leaders with their sixth win a row, surviving a 41-32 shootout against the Eagles.  Jason Brown tossed 4 TDs in a losing cause, two to Jason Campeau.

Big Dogs 36  Shock 9

Former Bomber QB Chad Cox made the start for the Big Dogs and ended the team's three game losing streak tossing four touchdowns in a huge win for the Dogs against the defending AFFL champion Shock.
