Week 7 Update: BEAVERS CLINCH TOP SPOT WITH LAST SECOND WIN

The Golden Beavers avoided defeat on the last play of the game again last week to remain perfect at 8-0.  The win, coupled with the Redskins upset of the Agents, clinched first place for the Beavers heading into the last week of the regular season.

Beavers 20  Warriors 18

For 75 minutes,  the league's oldest team looked like they had turned back the clock and were going to upset the league leading Beavers.    Playing their second game of the day, the Warriors held a 8-3 halftime lead and scored a TD with 4 plays left in the game to take an 18-14 lead.  The Beavers weren't done however, getting to the Warrior 30 yard line for a last ditch attempt.   Sure enough,  3rd string QB Rory O'Connor threw up a pass that Chris Graham out-dueled the Warriors coverage for a catch just inside the endzone to give the Beavers an improbable win and keep their record perfect.

Redskins 18  Agents 14

The Agents, missing QB Jay Cunningham, needed a win to keep their hopes of first place alive heading into this week's showdown with the Beavers.   The Redskins had other ideas, picking up their second win in three games with a hardfought 18-14 over their former teammates and rivals.

Warriors 20   Eagles 19

In the first game of a doubleheader for both teams,  the Warriors and Eagles waged a see-saw affair that saw the Eagles take a 19-12 lead with 6 plays left in the game.   Warrior QB Marty Patience marched the Warriors downfield and hit Darryl Campbell on 5th down to get the Warriors within one, then hit Campbell again with the two pointer for the one point win.

Shock  26    Bruzers 16

The defending champs overcame a half-time deficit to get back in the win column over the suddenly reeling Bruzers, who dropped their second in a row.

Big Dogs 61  Bandits 20

The Big Dogs QB tandem of Chad Cox and Ryan Spataro combined for 5 touchdown passes, with Spataro scoring 3 TDs as the Big Dogs romped to victory.   Damon McLachlan had an outstanding day, with 3 TDs and 5 interceptions.   Adam Spataro added three more interceptions in the win.  Dan Stanley scored all three touchdowns for the Bandits.

Big Dogs 43  Eagles 27

Brothers Adam and Ryan Spataro had 2 touchdowns each with Damon McLachlan adding another as Big Dogs grounded the Eagles by a two touchdown margin.
