REDSKINS & BEAVERS SET FOR FIRST PLACE SHOWDOWN

Three weeks into the 2013 AFFL season, only two teams remain perfect - the upstart Redskins and the perennially contending Beavers.  After Week 4,  only one team will remain so.

The Beavers take on the Redskins for first place this week in an mid-season showdown that could be a preview of this year's AFFL final.  But as this season has shown, anything is possible and nothing is certain.

The defending champion Big Dogs are 1-2 after discovering that being the champ puts a big target on your back.   The Dawgs lost a rematch of the 2012 AFFL final to the Jokers 27-21 in Week 2 and dropped a hardfought defensive struggle 10-7 to the Beavers last week.  The Shock, so long the cream of the AFFL crop, find themselves rebuilding and sitting at 1-2.
The Jokers followed up their big win over the Big Dogs with a big donut in a 20-0 loss last week to the Bruzers -  who, by the way also shutout the Shock last Sunday to move to .500 after an 0-2 start.   Any given Sunday indeed.

So, who knows what this Sunday will bring - and the next one before the Thanksgiving break.  Can the Redskins prevail in their first real test of the season? Can the Jokers rebound?  Will the Bruzers continue their rise? Can the Shock stop their fall? Will the Big Dogs regain their bite?

Many, many questions - time to start getting some answers.
