IT'S BIG DOGS AND BEAVERS AGAIN

The 2014 AFFL FlagBowl will feature two familiar foes on Saturday when the Golden Beavers and Big Dogs face off for the title.  Two years ago, the Big Dogs upset the Beavers in the semi-finals en route to their first title.  Last year, the two teams met in the championship, with the Beavers prevailing 14-5.  Who will it be this year?

The Beavers survived a quarter-final scare against the Warriors, overcoming a 9-3 halftime deficit to win 16-9.  In the semis last week, the Beavers took on a familiar foe in the Jokers and found their stride, winning convincingly.  The Big Dogs took an opposite road, posting a big win over the Redskins in the quarters, then battling long and hard against the top ranked Agents before prevailing 24-18 in last week's semis.

On the consolation side, the Redskins defeated the Bandits 32-20 to earn a berth in the C final, while the Warriors and Brusers had a great game that needed OT before the Warriors prevailed 34-31.

So, FlagBowl play will start with the 'Skins and Warriors in the C final at 10am, followed by the Jokers and Agents in the B final at noon and the A final featuring the Beavers and Big Dogs at 2pm.   The annual awards banquet will follow at 7pm at the Alliston Memorial Arena.
