UNTOUCHABLES LIVE UP TO NAME TO OPEN 2018 SEASON

The 2018 AFFL season got underway this past Sunday with 9 teams looking to win it all - and eight of those teams looking to knock off the defending 3 time champion Big Dogs to get there.   If  the Untouchables first two games are any indication -  they have served notice that they are indeed coming for the Dawgs.  And while both the Beavers and Agents won in less impressive fashion, they too are on the short-list of teams with the Big Dogs solidly in their sights.

The Untouchables opened against the Jokers in rematch of last season's quarter-final match up that saw the Untouchables squeak out a 33-26 win to avoid an upset loss.  This time around, the result was never in doubt.  Mike Nielzyrik scored 10 points and had an interception as QB Trevor Wood found 6 different receivers for majors, with the defence tossing in four interceptions as the Untouchables cruised to a 48-6 win.   In what was a doubleheader weekend, the Untouchables then faced the Warriors and kept rolling on both sides of the ball.  Marc Horan scored three touchdowns with Jake Molten throwing in two more and the Untouchables D tossed a shutout in an impressive 49-0 win.   The wins move the squad to 2-0 and put them at the top of the standings after Week 1.

In other action,  Greg Moore tossed 5 TDs for the Big Dogs, two to Adam Spataro, as the defending champs opened with a 36-15 win over Team Green. Neil Perry had touchdown passes to Mark Whelan and Chris Clarke, with Chris Graham kicking a field goal and adding a 1 pointer and INT that proved to be the difference in the Beavers 18-13 win over the hard scrapping Bandits. Finally,  Shane Stone made his AFFL debut at QB for the Agents, tossing two touchdowns including one to Dan Bailey, who also threw in a two pointer and two interceptions for good measure, as the Agents toppled the Bruzers 14-3.
