1ST TIME CHAMPION WILL BE CROWNED AT FLAG BOWL 2019

  VS

It has been seven years since a team won it's first ever AFFL title.  That feat is guaranteed to happen again on Saturday at Flag Bowl 2019 as the undefeated Agents will take on the Untouchables for AFFL supremacy.

The Untouchables are appearing in their second consecutive final thanks to an upset 27-18 win over the Big Dogs which eliminated the four time champs.    The Untouchables intercepted a lateral on a kick off at the one yard line and converted that turnover into points, then saw the Big Dogs drop a wide open TD pass late in the game that proved to be the difference in the upset victory.

The Agents, meanwhile, found themselves in a super-tight contest against the 2018 champion Golden Beavers.    It was a see saw affair reminiscent of the 2007 AFFL semi-final between these clubs, which the Agents went on to win in overtime.  With the Agents up 26-19 with two plays left,  the Beavers scored a TD and it looked as though overtime would happen again.  But the champs decided to go for 2pts and the win right then and there.   Tight coverage by the Agents Mike Melo and a slightly off target pass by the Beavers Neil Perry saw the attempt fail,  giving the Agents a 26-25 win.

In consolation round action, the Jokers defeated Team Green 26-0 while the Bandits advanced to the consolation final with a 12-7 win over the Warriors

Flag Bowl 2019 gets underway on Saturday Nov 16th at Wright Field with the C Final between the Jokers and Bandits at 9:30; the B Final between the Beavers and Big Dogs at 11:00 and the John Boylan Memorial Cup championship game between the Agents and Untouchables at 1:00 pm.
