We just wanted to update you on the current situation for the 2020 AFFL
season due to the Covid-19 pandemic
We have been advised by the Town of New Tecumseth that they are not taking any bookings
until after Labour Day. With
that said, the League is currently “pencilled in” for Wright Field and the banquet hall, but we cannot confirm until later this summer whether or not the AFFL 2020 season will occur.
In addition, the Simcoe County District School Board IS NOT accepting any bookings at this time, so Banting Field is currently unavailable.
At this point it is
a waiting game. The one thing that is clear is that play this year will be
contingent on the guidelines and directives that are put in place by the
government and Health Canada to ensure everyone’s safety. In addition, the League will be monitoring return to play criteria by both touch football and flag football sport governing bodies in North America in making a final decision as to the status of the 2020 season.
