2019 Playoffs: USUAL SUSPECTS ADVANCE TO FINAL FOUR

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

That old adage still rings true in the AFFL where, despite an overall league improvement in defence and some regular season upsets, the bona fide contenders have emerged to set up what promises to be a couple of stellar semi-finals next week.

The top seeded Agents stayed perfect on the season with a tough 20-3 win over the Bandits, a team that always gives the Agents fits and did manage to hold the Agents high powered offence in check.   They now advance to play the defending champion Beavers, who seem to found their stride at the right time and showed their playoff experience with a 30-9 win over the Warriors, avenging a regular season loss.   The Beavers hope for another reversal next week as they seek to avenge a 22-15 loss at the hands of the Agents last week.

The #2 Big Dogs proved their bite really is as bad as their bark with a resounding 40-1 win over the Jokers to end any illusions of a potential upset.  That win earns them a rematch with the Untouchables, who prevailed 23-7 over Team Green.
The Untouchables were soundly beaten last week 36-6 by the Big Dogs, but did eliminate the 2017 champs from the playoffs in the semi-finals last year.

Play gets underway at 9am next week as Team Green takes on the Jokers in one consolation semi-final, with the Warriors clashing with the Bandits in the other conny semi.  The Agents and Beavers clash at noon, followed by the Big Dogs and Untouchables at 1:30.
