AGENTS CLINCH FIRST WITH DH WIN

For the second year in a row, the Agents have clinched the AFFL regular season title with a win over the Golden Beavers.    Can they ride that top playoff seed to their first AFFL title?  We'll see when playoffs begin Nov 8th.

The battle of undefeateds between the Agents and Beavers was a great game by all accounts - and in the end it wasn't the Agents high powered offence that stole the game, but the defence.  Up 23-17, the Agents stopped the Beavers on 5th down at their own 1 yard line to preserve the win.    They couldn't celebrate too long as they then had to face their nemesis the Big Dogs in their second game of the day.  Again, the Agents defence came to the fore, only surrendering 15 points in a solid 25-15 win that moved the squad to 8-0 and clinched first place.

In other action, the Jokers avoided a wild card game with an 18-6 win over the Warriors; the Untouchables won both games of their doubleheader against Team Green and the Bandits for their fifth consecutive win to move to 6-2; the Bruzers got their first win of the season when a John Christos interception set up a TD to Steve Corke to secure an 18-13 win over Team Green;  while the Redskins survived a TD on the last play of the game against the Bruzers by defending the 2pt convert attempt to preserve an 18-16 win.

All games this week are at Wright Field.  And remember - clocks go back an hour so don't show up too early! :)
