Week 7: BIG DOGS CLINCH FIRST; WARRIORS TAKE TWO

There can be only one top dog in the AFFL, and this year so far it has been the Big Dogs. Hot on their heels, though, have been the Agents.  The 2019 champs and 2021 finalists came into their Week 7 showdown against the undefeated Dawgs with only one loss - and knew a win would give them an inside track to finish first overall.

However,  the Big Dogs never let the Agents got on that track.

In what may have been a potential AFFL final preview, both teams traded blows and played well on both sides of the ball.  But in the end,  the Big Dogs had just a little more firepower,  taking the game 17-7.

With the win, the Big Dogs moved to 7-0 and clinched first place overall.

Not to be outdone,  the Warriors showed they have come out to play in late stages of the regular season.  After squeaking out a 20-19 win over the Bandits last week, the Warriors turned it up a notch this weekend,  taking both ends of a doubleheader - 26-20 over the Jokers and 27-12 over Team Green.   A win next weekend over the Untouchables will put the Warriors in a top 5 position entering the playoffs.

In other action,  Team 9 won their 5th in a row with a convincing 15-0 shutout of the high powered Untouchables, while the Beavers got back into the win column with a 29-7 win over the Bandits.
