Week 2: JOKERS HAVE LAST LAUGH, END SHOCK STREAK

For the past two seasons, the Shock have survived semi-final match ups against the Jokers to win by a point each team enroute to championships,  so the Week 2 match up between these two teams promised lots of fireworks.   In the end, the Jokers finally had the last laugh,  pulling away in the second half to win 38-14 against and undermanned and, on this day at least, overmatched Shock squad.

The win ended the Shock's 16 game winning streak and established the Jokers as a legitimate contender for the 2012 AFFL title. "The did everything they needed to do to win," said Shock QB Greg Moore, who added that if the streak had to end, "I don't mind losing to those guys."

Joker QB Ricardo Hoyos tossed 3 touchdown strikes while the Verstraten brothers - Jason, Jeff and Chris, accounted for four touchdowns, two converts, two rouges, two sacks and two interceptions among them.  Newly acquired Neal Wright and veteran Paul Moore scored TDs for the Shock.
