Week 2 Round Up: BEAVERS AND JOKERS STAY UNDEFEATED

BEAVERS 38   EAGLES 9

Veteran Beavers QB Larry Cote got the start for his new team against his old team the Eagles and did not disappoint, throwing four touchdown passes to four different receivers to pace the Beavers to a big win over the Eagles.

JOKERS 38   SHOCK 14

After two tough one-point losses to the Shock in the past two AFFL semi-finals,   the Jokers may have needed some shock therapy.   The team got it on Sunday with a big 38-14 win, ending the 5-time defending champs win streak at 16.  Ricardo Hoyos tossed 3 TDs, with Chris Verstraten tallying 2 TD scores and brohters Jason and Jeff adding one each to move the Jokers to 2-0.

SHOCK 31   BANDITS 30

Still reeling from a loss to the Jokers, the Shock took on an inspired Bandits squad in a see-saw affair that came right down to the wire.   Teams traded scores for most of the game, with the Bandits taking a 30-24 lead with six plays left on a nifty catch and run by Ed Bland.  With 3 plays left,  Shock QB targeted Curtis Shakespeare with a long bomb and drew a pass interference penalty that moved the ball to the Bandit five yard line.   Two plays later the Shock scored the tying TD and added a single point convert to steal the 31-30 win.

BRUZERS  50   BANDITS 24

QB Brian Cook threw seven touchdown passes, three to wideout Andre Plante, to pace the Bruzers to a 50-24 win over a Bandits squad who had ran out of gas after a tough loss to the Shock.   John Jergens and Jake Moulton each had two TDS in the win, with Dan Stanley scoring 3 TDs to pace the Bandits.

AGENTS 40   WARRIORS 16

The Agents got back into the win column with a big win over an undermanned Warriors squad.  Gord Bailey scored two TDs, with Steve Koenig, Mike Melo and Tagir Asimov adding one each.   Jimmy Wallace and Dean Campbell replied for the Warriors.

BIG DOGS 50  REDSKINS 8

The Big Dogs are looking to make a big jump into the top tier of teams this year and they got off to a roaring start with a big win over the expansion Redskins. Ryan Spatoro and Guy Lamberti each had two TDs for the Dawgs in the win.
